J.16 AFIF

The Industrial Research Department (AFIF) of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPF) in Zurich conducts research for Neosonic S.A. for the development of a quartz watch. Neosonic had been founded in 1969 by Hamilton-Buren, Certina, Roamer and Rolex as a research organisation. In 1970, the quartz crystal (16384 Hz) and the frequency divider that had been developed by this comapny, were shown at the Basle Fair. Supposedly this watch was to be the predecessor of the GP 350.
