H.6 Lip R 50, ESA 9190

1966At the Basle Fair in 1966 Lip showed a ladies' electric watch which never came into production. This watch was modified and became the world's first ladies' transistorised watch in 1970. In 1967, Lip and ESA started a co-operation to develop the R 50. After the first few thousands were sold in the USA, the sale in France and other countries started.


This caliber has also been used in the: Favor 308, Gruen 80, the Bulova Caravelle 7OT and various models of Waltham. Calibers that have been derived from this model are:
R 051 and R 053.
